Breaking into the entertainment industry.
Before you pull out your check book to pay for expensive modeling classes and seminars you need to ask yourself: is really necessary? As a veteran agent with more than 20 years in the industry, I can tell you first hand that talent is talent and classes and seminars won’t give you something you don’t already have. At Empire Talent and Models we constantly come across people who have wasted months and even years on unnecessary modeling classes and seminars. All they did was waste their time and money without seeing a return on their investment. People are lured into these “agencies” with empty promises of fame and fortune in return for hundreds upon thousands of dollars for modeling classes. To avoid this trap, Empire Talent and Models recommends you look for a licensed agency that offers straight forward talent management services. All you want is representation. You are not looking for an acting coach/agent wrapped into one. If you need a coach, hire a coach, if you need an agent, hire an agent. You don’t want to sign up with an agent that charges you for classes, composites and ask for more than 20% of your income, when you land a booking. You will spend most of your time in classes and little to no time actually working. At Empire Talent and Models, we encourage aspiring talent to tap into their natural potential and let the rest just flow. There is no formula in place and you don’t need to pay thousands of dollars to crack some code.
Acting classes and voice over lessons will be recommended after initially booking work in the industry. If you decide to continue pursuing an acting career your agent should be able to point you in the right direction when it comes to working with an experienced and affordable coach. However, to get things off the ground, you simply need personality, charm and a professional set of photographs.
With Love,
